climbing toys

My mom is really wanting to get K a climbing toy for Christmas as she is loving to climb these days. The only problem is that she's a shortie, so she has problems navigating some of them. We've checked the local resale shops and their prices seem too high, and no real stores seem to be carrying them through the winter, so I guess we'll be ordering online. This one seems to be the best option because of the stairs going up the side, but I'm concerned that they may be too narrow for her to do well with.

Any ideas? Should we just wait until spring? Thanks!

DS is a shortie too. We just put a Rubbermaid step stool next to the climber so that he could get up there (ours doesn't have steps). As to when to get it, it depends whether you are using it inside or out and, if outside, what your weather is like in the winter.
