I am looking at the following chairs for DD. I like the babystyle ones because they are cheaper. I was wondering if anyone has these? Do your kids like them? Use them? DD already has a very large stuff dog. Would this be redundant? Should I just go with something that looks more like a regular easy chair?

Are these chairs even appropriate for a 13 months old?

I don't have one of these chairs, but I saw them in PBK....and they are adorable!! They are soooo soft and cushy!! I am still trying to decide whether to get my kids one. I've already bought so much already...but I really love those chairs. :)

I've also had my eye on those babystyle chairs, and if I could actually decide on an animal, I might eventually end up getting one. :)

Can I ask how old your kids are? I"m wondering if DD is too young at 13 months?

Also, if you are interested in the Babystyle Chair the code that is listed in the bargain forum for 25% off appeared to be working yesterday. It works out to getting free shipping. Plus, ebates offers 6% back.

Ooh, ooh, I have some information on this!! I fell in love with the PBK critter chair and wanted it for ds (15 mos) so badly. But at $99, I felt it was a bit steep. Then I saw the one at Babystyle and it was $59. (I chose the monkey though.) So I ordered it and paid something ridiculous like $16 for shipping because of its large size. It arrived and thank goodness I took it out of the box this past weekend because I do not like it. It's cute, but it's really not a functional chair. Compared to the PBK critter chair, it's very tall and very stiff. It has very little space for the child to sit in.

So I went to the PBK store the next day and bought the critter chair (frog). Side by side, the critter chair is just far better. It's much more cushy, lower to the ground, and much more seating area. It could truly be sat in as a chair. The Babystyle one now seem like a big, stiff, stuffed animal. I even let my ds play with it since he came in my room and saw it and I knew I was going to return it. He liked it, but would definitely have toppled over if he tried to sit in it. No way. Hugging it was about all he could do with it.

So now I have to figure out how to ship this thing back, or decide if I should hold onto it for a gift....though I feel bad giving something as a gift that I didn't like enough to keep. Anyway, learn from my mistake and go for the critter chair.

Ditto what Kristen said - the Babystyle chairs are not all all functional. We have the bear one and the seating area is small and the bear's nose is where the child's back would go, which further limits the seating area. The child can't sit to the side because the arms are too cushy. I should've sent it back - it's served no purpose other than being an expensive stuffed animal.

Yes, thanks from me too. The seating area and position of the head were exactly the concern I had from looking at the photos.

Carren, even if you do not get that one I highly recommend a chair. My DS got one for his first birthday. In the beginning he did not do much with it but now he sits in it all the time. He really loves it a lot. The chair we got was a gift but I think it was around $20 at KB or TRU. Since he likes it so much I'm looking for a better model. Also, we have this mini plastic chair that I picked up at the dollar store. That is another huge favorite. When I put a DVD in he climbs up in the chair to watch. It's so cute! I'm glad I went the inexpenisve route because I kn

The soft chair DS has looks like this but his is Spiderman :)

ITA with Angie about getting A chair, even if not a critter! C loved to play in the little chairs at the store and at friends houses, so he's getting a rocker from www/toddlerock.com for christmas. It's hasn't arrived yet, but I'll review after we get it.

Thanks for posting about Toddlerock!! :) I have never heard of them before. I was considering the Critter Chairs from PBK, but I like the rockers much better!! :) I got my order in just in time...today is the cut off for Christmas delivery.
