Hi! My son just turned 6 months old and is in need of a new bath seat. We have a traditional infant tub that has a toddler seat option but it isn't very comfortable. So, I've seen the blue seat with the beads on the front...I can't remember brand names sorry, and the one they have on the BRU website...it has an armrest for parents. Both are good from 5-10 months. I'm looking for something that will last until my son can sit in the tub unassisted...I can't afford to keep buying tubs! Any ideas on a seat or how long they really last would be greatly appreciated! Shannon

I don't like the bath seats and skipped them all together. I used a blow up tub that fits inside a regular bathtub. They're inexpensive too.

We tried two different bath seats and hated them both. If he can sit at all I would get the inflatable bath tubs and then you can catch him if he starts to fall at all. If he isnt' ready for that I would get the safer bather http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005JIVI/qid=1104294611/br=1-2/ref=br_lf_ba_2//002-4610114-5488017?v=glance&s=baby&n=542418.

I use the toddler side of our baby bath tub still, and my son is 15 mo old. Just easier than filling the whole bathtub, and he is good about not trying to climb out. When he was learning to sit up, I would put that bear sponge (at BRU for $3-4) in it for him to sit/lean on, it helped him not slide around so much.

We have this one - the Tubside Bath Seat by Safety 1st. We bought it when DS was about 5 months and we love it. He loves to splash around, it swivels and I like the arm rest...

When we were at this stage, we had that same bath you were talking about (the infant/toddler seat one) and it was just awful.

We bought the Primo EuroBath @ BRU (they also have it @ Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot) but they're the same price where we're at. Anyway, that has a infant recline side and a toddler sit side and DD absolutely loves it and we use it to this day (she's 20 months). DD still likes to recline when we rinse the shampoo so it doesn't get in her eyes.

We used to prop a little "side table" in the tub and have the EuroBath on top of that so I could stand and bathe her but once she got too heavy for the weight limit of the table we now have the EuroBath in the tub. It's just perfect size to not be too overwhelming for her and I can see us using it for a long time to come.

Oh, and for an armrest, I scored a Tub Guard set @ Right Start clearanced @ $8.97. I'll bet you could call around and ask if you were interested- my store still had a couple left.

I like it. I remember before I purchased it that many board members had praised the convenience of bath seats, so I definitely think it varies from parent to parent.
Obviously, you cannot leave baby alone in the bath seat, but other than requiring a watchful eye and a scrubbing hand, DS is on his own in the seat, and lovin it.
I find it very easy to use.

Thank you all for your suggestions...I guess I'll have to think about it!! I really wanted to get the Euro bath...but I thought it would be too big to fit in our tub. When I was origionally looking for a baby tub I saw all of the rave reviews on it. I also like the guards that you can buy for your knees and elbows, I had know idea they made those!! Thanks for all of the other responses!!!! Shannon
