DS has been getting nosebleeds once/week for the past 1-2months. He only gets them at night while he's sleeping. I think a humidifier might help. We have a Vorando space heater in his room right now.

I've read the reviews and previous threads but I'm still confused on this. Here is what we are looking for:

Cool mist
Humidistat
easy to clean/maintain- dishwater safe a major plus
works okay with hard water
quiet.

I think the Hunter care free Plus & Hamilton Beach True Air are my top two choices now.

Any recommendations?

One suggestion... make sure the humidifier you buy has filters that are available in stores year round! We bought a wonderful one from Bed Bath and Beyond (our main concern was that it was QUIET!) but now the filters are not available in the store and are expensive.... plus we have to factor in shipping and waiting for them.... not worth it in the end!

There was a recent discussion and I think a Holmes brand humidifier was suggested. They sell them at Target and the filters are available there as well! I am looking into buying a new humidifier too!

Good luck
