Now that DS is good with his books (and has so many!) I'd like to take them off the high shelf and put a small bookcase in his room. Any recs for nice ones? I'd prefer wood to plastic so it has some use after he grows older! Multi-use (bookcase/toy storage) is OK too. Wasn't sure if I should just go with an inexpensive wood case made for adults or if there are kid-safe ones out there.

DS got a cherry bookcase from his grandparents for Christmas. We got it at JCPenney. I'd never have thought to look there but I did a Google search for cherry bookcases and came upon the JCP site. They are not expensive and have different sizes with 2, 3, 4, or 5 shelves. They come in a light cherry or mahogany finish. We got the mahogany since it matches the rest of his nursery furniture. They are sturdy and come with hardware to attach the back of the shelf to the wall if you need to keep your child from pulling it over.

HTH!
