Hi all,
In the past week, I've bought 2 sets of FP LP at my nearby Walmart. The first was the Sweet Sounds home, normally $20-25, I think, which I got for $10 on clearance. The second was the Fun Sounds Playground, which was clearanced for $5.50, normally $15. While I'm thrilled with this discovery, it makes me wonder if it's Walmart that's doing it, or is FP discontinuing some of the LPs??

I think that it may be the case that FP is cancelling or changing the box, etc. The house was on sale at Sears online for $7.50 (but they were out of stock). Toysrus online also did not have some of the Little People sets that I saw. I was trying to get a present for my niece and noticed that as I was looking for the best price before Christmas.

LP always go on sale this time of year, and new variations often come out (such as the barn and the amusement park, last year). Sometimes a new variation does not come out, though, and the item is just discontinued.

Target has several little people sets on clearance too. Like the PP mentioned the barn went last year. I was able to get the barn on clearance at Kohl's for next to nothing and it is one of DD's favorite sets. I bet they are coming out with some new sets.

i happened to do a focus group on FP little people (didn't know it until the end of the group). they asked a bunch of questions re how we felt about colors etc of little people (versus say weebles) so maybe they are making a bit of a change.

Hi Rita,
When you say colors, do you mean the colors of their clothing, or their race/skin color?

My 2 y/o DS was SOOO excited that his new LP tractor set came with a "bown dwiver" (brown driver), as opposed to the "wuh-ite" king and queen in his castle! Will be interesting to see what changes they make, either way.

hi jessica,

oh no i mean the overall color of their clothing etc. kind of like how the pop ons are brighter and the weebles are brighter type colors. they didn't touch on race at all. i am also glad that they mix it up in different sets.

i think they were also interested in knowing whether the mothers liked more whimsical faces on the animals or the more *realistic* ones that fplp animals have now. they were also interested in whether people liked how the sets go together and they can build a whole town.
