View Full Version : Do you have a hard time steering your Jumbo Kettler with the pushbar?

I want to buy the One Step Ahead Kettler with the 10% off coupon. I don't have many options because most places won't ship to Hawaii.

Anyway, I'm torn between the original Kettler (I think it's a Jumbo) and the Navigator. How important is the handbrake? Is the Jumbo hard to steer without the rear swiveling wheels? Will I regret not having air wheels? Is this a good deal?

Why is this such a hard decision???

I had looked into this prior to Christmas and, from what OSA and Kettler emailed me, it is not a bad deal. The frame shape and colors are different, but that's about it. I have a Navigator (not purchased through OSA) and we love it. The pushbar takes a little getting used to, but it will be great in the summer. Sorry I couldn't be more help. However, use the code PARENTB and save 15%!

We have the Air Jumbo with the push bar-purchased through the coop. We love it. We are housebound due to snow and very cold temps but at least once a day Jack gets pushed around the first floor on the Kettler. I love the push bar. We got the air tires because our driveway is not paved and we live on a dirt road. If we were paved I probably would not have splurged. HTH.

We have the Jumbo, non-air with push bar. Love it love it love it!

It steers a little to the right which is a PITA but does give my arms a good workout. I couldn't decide between the Navigator and the Jumbo either until DH told me that we're not going to be pushing him for long and knowing him, Kael will probably need the hand brakes more when he goes solo. For now, our walks are a little jerky because Mr. Monkey-boy likes to mess with the hand brakes while being pushed.

Same trike and same reasoning why we opted NOT to get the Navigator. It really is not hard to push at all. I almost splurged and got the air tires since we live near the beach and lots of trails and such but opted for the non air because I think it offers the option of adding a tandem which the air doesn't.
