UPDATE: Question about Ball Pits.....

UPDATE: Not sure if anyone was looking to buy a PlayHut Megaland, but mine arrived today and the Walmart one is exactly the same one as on Amazon (including 50 balls), but for $30 less. Hope this can help someone.


My parents have just purchased a Play Hut Megaland for DS's birthday (don't know where I'm going to put it). However, they bought it online from Walmart and it doesn't say anything about including balls. Question #1- all the ball pit balls that I lok at online say ages 3 and up....am I missing something? How can they be dangerous at almost 3 inches in diameter? Question #2- I'm interested in the Fisher-Price Flex Balls (supposed to be softer)....anyone have them? Opinion? Has anyone seen these or any other ball pit balls at a real-life store so that I don't have to pay for shipping? Thanks.

My 16 month old LOVES ball pits! I'm not sure what the safety hazard is but I think as long as you are there rigght along side your DS he will be perfectly fine.

We bought our ball pit at Ross but it only came with 25 balls. I supplemented with the FP flex-balls and they are great. I bought a box at TRU and I *think* it was around 24.99.

My baby got this one from Amazon at around 11 months. He loves it (he's 12 months now). I would only worry about the balls if he fell asleep in a pile of them...that would never happen because I am always right there playing with him. This set from Amazon came with 50 balls. We also have the Fisher Price Box of 100 Balls, but not the Flex Balls you are talking about. The Box of 100 Balls are almost identical to the balls that come with the Megaland, only they are bigger. We love the Megaland around here, so I don't think you'd be disappointed. Just make sure you have space for a "Mega-Land"...it's huge. Have fun.
