I've pretty much made up my mind with a Air Jumbo, but the seat concerns me. I like the look of the seat with the Air Happy (it just looks more comfortable), but I reallllly want the dump bucket in the back that comes with the Jumbo. Does anyone have the Jumbo and is the seat comfortable for a toddler?

Do you suggest getting the seatbelt, especially for a 12 month old (he'll be getting it for his first birthday)? What about the LilFootrest?

Also, I'd like to get a pushbar, but I've read on Amazon that it doesn't work that well. My problem is that both my husband and I have bad backs, so it will be difficult to bend over to push him all over the place. I'm wondering if the pushbar is really *that* much of a pain where it would outweigh me having to hurt my back.

Lastly, do the Air Trikes allow tandem seating or no?

Thanks so much in advance ...

Here is what I know;

I actually went with a Jumbo over the rest because of the seat. My nephew sat on a Navigator (same seat as Happy) and he filled the seat so I wanted it to last him a while and hence got the larger seat. He got it for Christmas at 2.5 yo's and fits with plenty of room.

The pushbar will work, perhaps the reviews are linked to the fact that the trike tends to move to one side (ours leans to the left.) You just have to keep pushing down on the bar to pop the front wheel to get it lined up again. A bit of a pain, but I haven't investigated the trike any further to fix it yet.

No. Only the S frames do.

We just got a Navigator for our son's first birthday. I liked the seat of the Air Jumbo better, but with the seatbelt (definitely a must for a one year old!) it works just fine. The pushbar on the Navigator works great - it is almost easier than a stroller. We ended up just getting the regular tires and they work fine even with our uneven sidewalks and the grass at the park. We don't have the lilfootrest and I don't think we will get it. I doubt that Kai would use it. I know I didn't get any responses when I asked for help a couple months ago about the Kettlers, so I hope this helps! It is really hard to choose, but I think you will probably be happy with either choice.

According to the site I've been looking at (http://www.whatshebuys.com/kecopa.html has a very informative chart on the features of the various Kettlers), the Air Jumbo has an S frame and is tandem-adaptable.

Ahh I see, that's the new Air Navigator.

When I was researching for my own purchase the Air Navigator wasn't yet available. What I was talking about was the Air Happy and the now discontinued Air Jumbo that don't allow tandem seating.

For people who still want the Air Jumbo, this place has some left:

The store I'm looking at, Nifty Cool Toys, says it's a Kettler Air Jumbo... it clearly has an S-frame. Is it misidentified? Or are you saying it used to have a straight frame, & has now been changed?

Sorry, just confused -- I've only *just* started researching these.

Warning - researching Kettlers can make you go mad! ;-) I started 2 months before I actually decided! Everything in my mind went to trikes.

I'm a little confused at all the different models saying Air Jumbo. What I know is the original Air Jumbo has the straight frame. This has been discontinued. I *think* what's taking it's place is the Air Navigator. (Another hint to what is the Air Navigator is that it seems to always have yellow hubcabs - of course the Brummi does too!)

From what the Kettler home page says there is three air models. Air Navigator, Air Happy and Air Jumbo. http://www.kettlerfitness.com/page10.html I would think that Kettler would have the correct and up to date pictures.

Something strikes me odd on Nifty Cool Toys. Most of the trikes look different, maybe it's old designs. I thought that the Combi was discontinued and the Junior looks really funky! - it should look like the Blossom. Can you see that on most of the trikes the handle bar is straight? From what I can tell all current Kettlers have the bend in the middle (and the only one pictured with a handle bend on Nifty is the Blossom). Also on a number of the trikes there is a bar that holds the seat on is connected to the bucket. From what I know current Kettlers don't have this bar (mine doesn't). Maybe Nifty toys just has outdated pictures? You could email to ask them to clarify before ordering.

Some of the toy sites that I used for my research include:
http://mytoybox.com/
http://www.mrtoys.com/kettler/Kettrikes/index.htm
http://www.maukilo.com/categ_kettler.html
Now some of these don't have the new Air Navigator on it.

I hope I haven't confused you more! Ask more questions and maybe I can answer more clearly!
