I want to get Julia a nice baby doll when her baby sister arrives. I thought about Bitty Baby, but Julia is really into hair now, so I think we need a baby with hair. I am contemplating breaking up a set of Bitty twins or a Maxy Muffin. Any other ideas? It would be nice to be able to use Bitty's accessories and clothes, so I want something around that size. (I think Maxy Muffin is 16.5" and Bitty is 15".) Thanks so much!

She'll be 3.5 when the baby arrives.

ETA: I just checked Ebay for singleton twins, but I couldn't find any. Someone wants $95 for the twins. They're only $75 from American Girl!! If I did get both twins, do you think anyone would be interested in buying just the boy? Thanks for the feedback.

I would get the Bitty Twins and you can always sell the other twin on eBay if you like. Lots of people want only one of the twins. There is also a code for $10 off at AG right now good through March 31. The code is 137807.

I love AG stuff, so I'd buy the twins and save one for later if I were you. My DD (another Julia!) also has a Madame Alexander doll with hair (it was a gift) that she likes a lot.

I don't know if the Corolle dolls are in the class that you are looking for (or too small maybe?), but kidsurplus.com has 2 w/ hair for $20 (free shipping w/ code kiddeal)

The Lee Middleton Newborn Wonder dolls are very nice, but they're only 13 inches long. I think they cost around $25, but I've also seen them on ebay. Here's a link: http://www.leemiddleton.com/ourbabies/product_series.php/id=17~start_num=11~full=19/index.html Scroll down for the Newborn dolls. DD also has a Small Wonder doll, but it's 17 inches. I saw some Maxy Muffins at Marshalls for only $19-$29, depending on the style and "ensemble." They had a really cute redhead, but I think I want a blondey so it looks like Julia.
