DS will be 2 when the baby is born, is this necessary or are there other recommendations that are better? A friend recommended it, though I think DH will be driven crazy. Did anyone get a doll for a soon-to-be big brother? Any suggestions?

We bought Jackson a Cabbage Patch Kid for his first birthday. He isn't really a "baby" more like a toddler doll. He is wearing a hat and shoes and has a puppy dog. Jacob hated the idea but I insisted because I was a huge CPK fan myself.

He has always played with him but in the past month he wants his baby to do everything he does. We even had to pull out our travel booster chair so baby can eat. We feed him bottles, change diapers etc. It bothers Jacob that his son has a doll, but he does see that he is learning how to be gentle and share. I never realy forced Jackson to do these things. He naturally seemed to want to care for his baby which gives me hope that the transition to a new baby will be easy.

Jacob is having to do all the shopping right now since I am on bedrest and last Sunday Jackson insisted on taking his baby. Jacob tried to leave it in the car and he threw a huge fit. Needless to say Jackson and baby sat in the grocery cart shopping. :) Jacob ran into about 3 couples that we know and was rather embarrased that he was out doing the shopping with a doll. He said old ladies loved it and other people gave him funny looks as Jackson was feeding his baby a cookie. :) I think it is sweet!
