I've heard that Playgyms/mats are one of the few toys really young infants enjoy. However, I'm not crazy about the bells-and-whistles garish look of a lot of them. The one I like the most so far is the red and black and white Gymini, but surely there's something cuter out there. I have sort of a natural wood toy/HABA aesthetic.

TIA!

We used the black, white and red Gymini with DS when he was small. It wasn't the best looking, but it wasn't horrible. Black, white and red is the easiest contrast for newborns to see so that is why we decided on that one.

Maukilo used to have some sort of baby gym (maybe by HABA) that I hadn't seen before, but when I went back just now to look for it on their site, I didn't see it anywhere. It was called something with a "garden" name in it. I think Neve was looking at it for Bronwyn?

Wait...I found it here at oompa's website

Is that something like what you were thinking?

Actually, that is really cute (if significantly more expensive). I see that the sides have to be folded up to put in the gym bars. Wonder if that's a good or a bad thing.
