I saw they had some nice looking wood food items. I want to replace dds plastic stuff. Any places that are good?

You can usually find Melissa and Doug at TJ Maxx or Marshall's, though selection varies. I find M&D wooden puzzles regularly at Ross and Tuesday Morning. As for the wooden food groups set and the wooden dry goods set, I had to buy them from toy stores (Creative Brains and Learning Express). I looked for well over a year at the stores I mentioned above, but never could find the food there. I did, however, find the cutting food at Marshall's, and I have seen the sandwich making set, pizza set, and birthday cake set there, as well. We love our M&D items!

I second all the recommendations above! For online purchases, I've had great luck with Creative Brains - their prices seem to be at least 20% every day, and if you sign up for the Daily Toy Deal (or something like that) they will email you with even greater discounts on M&D items as they pop up. Shipping is free for orders over $30, too. I think http://www.kidsurplus.com/ also carries discounted M&D items from time to time.

I just saw a fairly large selection at the Carter's outlet.

AC Moore also carries these. I bought the veggie set there with a 50% off coupon - definitely the best deal out there. I've seen the pizza set at Marshalls. But really, if you have a store accessible, AC Moore with a coupon (they take Michael's and Joann's coupons as well) is the best deal.

www.creativebrainsonline.com is a really nice store with great customer service. They recently sent out an email saying M&D had cracked down on pricing, so you should notice most places going up to the regular retail (or M&D will yank their accounts). They'll still be able to do their Daily Toy Deal from what I understand, but no more regular sale prices. :(

We received the M&D cutting food set recently as a gift (from a boutique store in the NY area) and we absolutely LOVE IT! DS, now 21m plays with it nearly every day, it's his favorite activity.

We also got our two sets at Marshall's. The pizza set was our biggest steal at $11 in the clearance section. The cutting veggie and fruit was $14.99.

Bummer! I bought some M&D stuff from them last winter and liked the prices, and we often buy them at Marshalls. Will definitely miss the lower prices we could find!
