I was about to buy the FP Healthy Care Booster seat today when I realized that I might not need so much chair. My ds is 17 months old and just needs the strap-on chair (minus the tray). He refuses to eat in his highchair now, so we need to get a booster (seat only) so that he can eat at the table like a big boy. Is there a booster seat you'd recommend that doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the FP chair that doesn't come with a tray? If so, where did you buy yours? Thanks.

The FP booster:

I have the FP booster and Kael is 21 months. He loves it, I love it and schlepp that thing everywhere.

When we use the tray, we only use the bottom tray and toss the whole thing in the sink to wash. The top two trays are nice when eating at a restaurant for bib, spoon, etc. storage in transit. It's also easy to not use the tray and bring it right up to the table.

I thought about using something like this:

but Kael is a wiggler and NEEDS to be strapped in otherwise he'd fall right out.

I guess I'm not really helping you out any... Sorry!

Baby Bjorn makes one but at Target it is $30, which is more than the FP one. I can swear I saw another one there that might have been chaper than the FP but I can't find it on-line. Here is the link to the Baby Bjorn.

The FP one is one of the cheaper ones that straps to the chair and child. You can always remove the tray and back if you don't want to deal with it. Although you may find that it comes in handy when traveling or whatnot.
