I need a small pillow for DS to sleep on at daycare. He uses a normal size pillow at home, but it takes up too much space in his cubby at daycare. Where can I find such a thing?

If you're not "anti-Walmart" you can get a travel sized pillow there for about $2.50. It's toddler sized. Before I found that one we'd already bought this one at One Step Ahead (and used it):

If you get that one I'd definitely NOT recommend the pillow case, it's very cheap & flimsy.

I know Pottery Barn Kids also has a toddler sized pillow, though they don't call it that exactly. I cannot remember what they do call it, something like the small basic pillow or something.

I saw a some inexpensive travel pillows at Bed, Bath & Beyond. They are similar to the toddler pillow that DS still uses. It's the perfect size for him.

Kristine and Karen,

Will I be able to find pillowcases for these travel pillows?

I *think* pottery barn (and OSA) sell cases.I think the company store might too. MIL made the cases for our pillows. Sorry I'm not real good with the details. It's been awhile since I was toddler pillow shopping. I just noticed the ones at Bed Bath and Beyond because I remember what a pain it was to find an inexpensive toddler pillow when I was shopping for one.

Yep, we have one from Pottery Barn Kids. I originally just bought it as a small cushion to use in the glider, but DS has recently claimed it as his pillow. It's the perfect size and thickness.

I believe it is the small Luxury Loft Pillow (12x16 inches):

You know I actually saw a small travel pillow that had covers too at Walgreens! I think it was $2.50 and the covers were $4.00. I'll double check next time I'm there (which might be tomorrow) for you.

I posted a reply earlier, but it disappeared, so I'll try again.

In addition to PBK (who has pillowcases available on-line, I believe), this is a cute site with small pillows and pillowcases, Mr. Bobble's Blankets: http://www.mrbobblesblankets.com/index.html

I don't have one, but asked about them. Here's a link to the responses.

Sounds like you got a couple good ideas for cases. I definitely don't recommend you spend the $7 or whatever it is on the OSA one, I returned ours....too scratchy & really thin. The OSA pillow is flannel & really you wouldn't need a case...except to try to protect it from little spills & such. Like Karen, we had a pillow case made. My Aunt made a couple cute fleece ones for us. I'm sure if you look around a bit you'd not have a problem finding some decent cases though. Good luck. :D

Well, I ended up at Bed Bath & Beyond out of convenience, and found a pillow and pillow case, each being $4. So $8 total. The pillow is a travel pillow, 12" x 16". Interestingly it says on the package that it is not intended for use by infants or toddlers. All I can tell about the pillowcase is that it is 100% cotton, seems just fine.

I might look into getting him a special one from that website mentioned above (sorry, I can't see that post, I think it was August Mom and the website was Mr. something!) or I might just make a fun little pillowcase for this pillow myself.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and info!
