Oooh! Sorry to hijack, but I'd be interested as well. I'm thinking of getting a table/chair set for Kaya and she's similar to your DS' age. I've been looking at the ones here:

http://www.littletikes.com/toys/Toys-List.aspx?ProductAgeRanges_ID=&ProductCategory_ID=42&Description=FURNITURE&SortOrder=&Page=2

There are others on the other pages, so don't just look on this page. The design master studio looks intriguing, but I don't know if it's too much. But I like the idea of storage ability, especially for as she grows.

Thanks for your replies!

Are the Little Tikes set sturdy enough that the chairs won't tip over?

My first preference would be a wood set but the ones I have seen are better suited for a 2+ year old.

I would love the find a lower to the floor wood table with sturdy lower chair. One that she can sit down on and not have to climb up on, KWIM?

I'm getting this set but this site has a bunch of others.

and the extra chairs:

I am some how doing her kitchen in primary colors and already have a moon/star splat mat so thought it would match well.

That set is adorable!!!

I think I might get the white Kidcraft set and have the lady who painted the murals in the nursery paint the table & chairs to match.

Anyone have the Kidcraft furniture?

We have this table from Ikea.

We have these red wooden chairs that go with this table, although I can't seem to find them on the website right now. They are small chairs and would be appropriate for a 15 month old.

Kidkraft has a small one that is lower to the ground than some. I saw it at our local kids' furniture store when doing a massive search for a table and chairs. This isn't the exact one I saw (I saw a white and natural one), but it is 18" high, which is short. http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro.asp?store=baby&lang=&id=26504 Ours is 20.5", FWIW. Although you may just want to buy a little bigger one anyway because DC will grow quickly.

I was very concerned about tippiness of the chairs because DS is a climber. That's what mainly concerned me about the plastic LT sets. The sturdiest chairs that I found were by EG Furniture. They have lots of stains as well, although, wouldn't you know it, there wasn't a stain to match the trim color in our home. So, we wound up with a set from an Amish furniture company. However, I do think the EG sets are very well made.

You can sort of see the EG tables in the upper right hand photo on this link (not a good photo, I know). http://peekaboostores.com/eg/accessories.asp There are square, round and rectangular tables available from EG Furniture. A store that I've shopped at in the past that carries this brand and will ship is Babyland, based in Pittsburgh. They have a lot more items than shown on the website, and I looked at the EG Furniture tables and chairs there in person. They are very helpful, even over the phone. http://babylandpa.com/store/home.php?sitepage=contact

Thanks, the Kidkraft set is the one I was going to go ahead with...

Btw, one website says the table is 18 high another says 20 high. My dd is a climber too and am concerned about the chair falling over.
