View Full Version : Should I get a smaller trike for my almost two year old?

We currently have a Kettler Air Navigator with all the bells and whistles. DS knows what to do. He sits on that trike and pushes as hard as he can but he is just not strong enough to pedal.

I saw a small child at the park the other day on one of those cheapy plastic trikes that are low to the ground. His mom said he had been riding it since he was two. I'm confident that DS could operate one of those since he could reach the pedals easier and they are so lightweight.

But, OTOH, getting another trike might be overkill since we already have a Cozy Coupe and a Step 2 Buggy cluttering up the patio. And of course DH will start to make comments about the price of the Kettler if I drag home a plastic trike.

No advice, but I have had similar thoughts. DS just can't seem to make the pedals on the Kettler go all the way around. Very frustrating. But, I think DH would kill me if we got another ride-on toy. (We have a Cozy Coupe too).
