I'm looking for good pretend groceries. I've got lots of vegetables, etc. but I'm looking for cans, boxes, etc. for playing "supermarket". Any ideas?

And then there's all kinds of stuff made by Haba. Depending on the age of your child, these may be too small: http://www.maukilo.com/cans-pantry.html

Call me crazy but DD just got a grocery cart so what I started doing was taping shut *real* boxes that I'm done with and she seems happy so far. :) She has a tissue box and an oatmeal fruit bar box so far. I should add that she's not terribly picky so far about what she puts in her cart so I don't have to hurry to fill it for her.

I will need to get some fruits/veggies but don't have the energy for it right now. She can enjoy her "real" groceries for a couple of months.

We got Conner the LT shopping cart at Christmas along with a bunch of pretend fruits and vegetables, but like Elizabeth I took a bunch of empty yogurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and coffee cream containers and put them in the cart for him to play with. They all have lids that he can take on and off and he loves putting stuff inside the containers, shaking them, and stacking them. And if one gets stepped on or destroyed I just wash out another container and replace it. We use the Horizan brand dairy products so all his containers have a cute little cow on them that he really likes! I myself wouldn't use our own empty boxed food items since they would get destroyed in a day (the plastic containers are more durable). We do plan on getting the Melissa & Doug set of food items to go with the play kitchen we got him for his birthday:

I saw some plastic ones at TRU a few months a go. I did not look at them closely enough as I was looking for something else.
