Thomas the train is in the KC area now. I took Sage to see and ride him a couple of days ago. We had a blast. Not only was Thomas there, but Sir Topham Hat was too. They also have other activities such as a magician, train tables, fire truck, temporary tatoos, etc. It was like a little Thomas carnival. I would highly recommend going if it is coming to your area.

Sage wouldn't pose for a pic with Thomas, but I did get one of him at the train station. There are also some pics of Thomas and Topham so you can see them.

Here'a a link to the 2005 schedule. All aboard....

Dana - I mentioned this to John, to see if he might want to take Jake, but couldn't generate any interest. Jake's not a big Thomas fan as yet, but he does like trains in general. I'm glad to hear you guys had such a fun time. Maybe we'll try next year!

Thanks for the link. It looks fun! Would it be worth driving a couple of hours to get to and making a day of it? There are 2 locations we could get to, but either one would be about a 2 hour drive. Thanks!

We took our 1 and 3 year old sons this year to "A Day Out With Thomas" and I would say it's totally worth it if your child is a big Thomas fan. My 3 year old is Thomas-crazy. We had to drive 1.5 hours each way but we had a terrific time. The moment when older DS saw the train pull in and yelled, "I love you Thomas" was completely priceless. Have fun! Kerri

It was a two hour round trip drive for us, but totally worth it. You could definitely make a day of it. There is a ton stuff for the kids to do. I don't think you'll regret it.

We are going with 2 other families at the end of the month. One of my friends went last year and said her kids had a blast so we decided to go with her this year. Then another friend heard about it and decided to join us. One of my coworkers was trying to go as well but she is having a hard time finding a hotel room since it is a 3 hour drive each way and we have to stay overnight. We decided to make a weekend out of it.

Thanks Dana, Kerri and Aileen. Turns out each place is about 2 hours and 45 min but I think we're going to make an overnight trip out of it. I showed DS the pictures Dana took and asked if he wanted to see Thomas. He said yes, then wanted to watch his Thomas DVDs the rest of the night! I don't think he quite understands the concept that we won't be seeing Thomas for 2 months though! Thanks so much for the idea.
