Our TJ Maxx has a bunch of very nice books on clearance. I picked up a Karen Katz book (Me & My Grandpa?), I Love My Mommy Because, the DK Publishing Touch & Feel Farm, and Eating the Alphabet all for $3 each. They had numerous pop-up books, and a ton of other very nice board books including some Boynton ones.

Just wanted to add that in our local TJ Maxx (N. CA), there were wooden puzzles, play food and play tools by Melissa and Doug that were on clearance too.
