imaginetoys.com has the fridge and sink/stove back on sale. I just ordered both for Lauren's birthday/Christmas. Hope someone else can jump on this!

ETA: I just got an email saying they are out and I won't be getting this. I surely hope they refund my credit card ASAP.

I tried to add it to my cart and it said backordered. Who knows!?!? I was told previously that they weren't going to carry it anymore and would not be stocking it again. Maybe their website doesn't know that yet.

Bummer! I placed my order last night and everything looked OK, but I bet I'll be getting the e-mail soon, too. How disappointing!

Too bad they can't/won't restock it -- even at that great price, they'd probably make a good profit with all of us BBBers ready to plunk down some cash!

Well, I did order this a couple of weeks ago and then posted here about it. I did get both kitchen pieces - they arrived very quickly. When I ordered they said that they only had three left and would not be restocking that is why the price was so low. I know that at least one other BBB member got a kitchen - sorry that there were those of you that wanted it that probably won't get it (they seem to have a very slow way to update their web site) but at least a few of us got a good deal - I will keep my eyes peeled for other good deals

Thought I would post an update. I got an email saying that they no longer carry the sink/stove and that the fridge is on backorder until 9/2/05. The website is still showing both for sale and both available. The customer service is lacking a bit. I'll update if anything changes.

Lana, you might double-check the color of the fridge you have on backorder. I may be wrong, but it seems like most places with this kitchen are switching over to pieces with a much bolder color scheme. Maybe Small World has discontinued the model we're trying to order?

I agree that I'm not too pleased with the items still showing on the web site, when I was told I couldn't order them. :(

Ok, I asked and yes, Small World is discontinuing the model we are trying to order and switching to a brighter color (which, by the way, I do NOT like!). So, I emailed imaginetoys to make sure I will not be getting a bright blue fridge!

This is fairly ridiculous what we go through to get a good deal! :)

ETA: I got an email back. The backordered fridge is the green and white one. So, if anyone is interested, I would recommend calling or emailing them first and seeing if you can still get this.

The red/white sink stove combo is still out there. I found it on several sites for about $140. I asked two sites to price match but got no answer.

I ordered the fridge from Imagine Toys a couple weeks ago after calling and being told the sink/stove would not be coming back, but still no word on when it's coming.

I ordered the refrigerator anyway as it seemed they were still going to be able to deliver on that one.

I got a letter in today's mail (8/19/05) saying that even the refrigerator is not going to be available at all.

I am so bummed! Now I have to keep shopping for a kitchen since I already bought all the accessories from Target!

Deb, what other kitchens are you considering? I'm in the same boat and your DS is about the same age as mine. You mentioned in an earlier post that you had found the Small World Toys sink/stove combo for $140. I haven't seen any deals that good, but I'm still looking.

I'm also considering the Constructive Playthings kitchen, but their site seems to be down right now.

Deb and Deidra -- Thanks for the tips! Wow, it is hard to find a good deal on shipping. I took the plunge and ordered the sink/stove combo from Baby Universe -- $159.99 plus $6.95 shipping. I'm going to skip the fridge for now.

I love that toddler setup -- aren't those colors great?

If anyone else is looking for Small World Toys kitchens, their website is great -- you can click on an item, type in your zip code, and they'll show you a list of local stores that carry it. I'm sure it's still worth a phone call before driving over, but it's a start.
