I got an email from ST about their new product, Baby Signs!

Great news is that you can preorder at www.preciouspersonalities.com (and support a WAHM from the BBB)!

Can't wait to see it.

DS and I spent way too much time today watching the video clips on the ST website. He cried when we walked away from the computer. Guess we have to order it.

DH and I have vol 1-3 of ST and we discussed whether to get 4-6 or to get the Baby Signs. We finally decided on 4-6 because DD seems to enjoy watching the bigger kids and also because while she enjoys some of the songs, she seems to just like watching the kids do the signs and do the various actions. In other words, she seems to like the format of 1-3. Her friend, on the other hand, is very musical and loves dancing around, so I'm guessing Baby Signs will work better for her (they don't have any of them).

In any case, we did order vol 4-6 from Preciouspersonalities. :) I hope Kaya ends up enjoying them just as much as 1-3.

9 months is a good age to start. For the difference, you can see the description here:

We're partly sticking to 4-6 because we already have 1-3, but I THINK we would still get Signing times rather than Baby Signs. But I haven't seen any previews of Baby Signs, so it's hard to know for sure.

There are video clips on the ST website - www.signingtime.com/babysigningtime

We have 1-3 for our 15 month old, and we're getting BST. Why? Because I think a lot of the stuff in 4-6 is too advanced for DS right now (ABCs, family relation signs, etc), and he loves to watch babies. A lot of the signs are the same from 1-3, but I think it'll be a good reinforcement. Plus, there's the entertainment value, and the 2 new cds which will save my sanity in the car (the ST 1-3 cd is all we can listen to in the car).

Thanks. I think I'm going to get the 4-6. You're right--some of the stuff in 4-6 is way advanced, but I still think Kaya would get somethig out of it, and I'm trying to avoid having to get BST AND 4-6 later. Plus, while Kaya likes watching babies, she's currently fascinated with watching somewhat older kids. :)
