My son was playing with a sesame street busy box at the babysitters' the other day, and he really liked it. I didn't- Ernie kept saying "Rubber ducky's my best friend." Elmo kept saying in a really annoying voice, "Elmo loves baby!."
Anyone know if Haba or another wooden toy company makes a busy box that doesn't talk? (I know that I can disable the battery, but i figure that as long as I'm buying one, then it should be one that I like.)

Is this what you mean by a "busy box"?

It's by Parents Magazine and used to be sold at Target (couldn't find it online, but it was in stores) for ~$50.

Politely butting in :-)
I have been looking at those. Does anyone have the parents magazine busy box, or one similar, what are your thoughts on those?

We have this one that we got from Sensational Beginnings.

It was a first birthday gift for Susanna and so far, she has enjoyed it quite a bit and I think she'll enjoy it more as she gets older. The primary interest now is the bead maze at the top and spinning the alphabet letters around.

We just bought the Parents box for DD's first b-day coming up. Haven't given it to her yet since it's quite not her b-day but it looks cool and much cheaper than other ones I've seen online. I'll let you know what "we" think of it when she finally gets it.
