Does anyone have this from One Step Ahead? We visit my parents about every 3 months or so for 4-5 days and we need a sleep solution. It was much easier to sleep with Kael when he was smaller but now he's a rocker and a roller (a really far roller) and we can't sleep on the bed anymore. We can't even sleep on the floor anymore since Kael will roll clear across the room and wake up disoriented and freaked out, not to mention tangled in the curtains! The way the room is designed doesn't allow for a wall we can use. The bed is really high and I'm scared he's going to wedge himself under. I don't trust DH to sleep next to Kael and there are french doors that I don't want Kael to sleep near.

So that leaves this. It's 52"L x 26"W x 5"H so it's pretty good sized. What do you all think? For $60?

We have something similiar but from The Right Start. I used it for a very short period of time (about 6 months) and then haven't used it since. It was a bit of a disaster for us! My oldest was about 2 when we used it and he would take out the foam from the sides and bite it. We have big chunks bit out! Also, it didn't really prevent him from rolling out of it. I ended up just pushing the bed to the wall and buying a portable rail for when we slept over at their grandparent's house. For us it was a waste of money.

I've also heard that it doesn't keep a child from rolling out since the sides are too soft. How about the AreoBed for kids-- that's what we'll probably get. There's several moms on the boards that have it and it seems to get good reviews (do a search for it). OSO has it too I think, but their's doesn't come with the cover. I've also seen it at Target.

Thanks - I'll do a search for the aero bed. I can't imagine that this would do a better job at keeping the kiddos corraled, though. I would think they would just plop off onto the floor!

Have you looked at the Quick n easy Travel Bed with electric pump? I haven't used it but the side are taller than the bed itself so you would think it would keep them in place. I found it at One Step Ahead.

I have used the quick and easy bed for OSA for my 18 month old and it works great. It is $30 cheaper than the Aero bed but does not come with a cover. I just use a twin sheet and tuck it under. The sides on the OSA quick and easy are higher than the Aeor bed

Hi,

I have two of these: I bought them a year ago for my then 4 and 2 year olds.
In general, I am pretty happy with them. Very light and easy to carry and set up. I didn't go for the aero bed thing because my adult version of the aero leaked, and I didn't want to deal with that on the trip. Anyway, my kids love the travel beds, and we used them several times when we go away.

On the other hand, I am fine with my kids rolling out of this bed (and they do roll out, not a whole lot but half their body is usually hanging out in the morning!), so this probably won't work for you. I usually roll up blankets and put it against the side of the travel bed, and that helps a bit....but not completely.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this. Are the sides pretty firm? I don't expect Kael to be held back by any means (he did manage to roll up and over 3 big pillows) but I would like to know that if he were to back into the sides, would he at least feel it there and maybe that would stop him from completely going over...? If he ends up hanging out, I'm fine with that. I just don't want him free-rolling across the room like a tumbleweed.

I guess what I'm asking is if the walls/sides are pretty firm or is it/can it become wobbly?

I was about to place the order for the OSA aero-bed look-alike but I did have some misgivings. Mainly that he would roll right off and plop on the floor. I'd rather him roll out of the trundle than fall and startle himself out of the air bed.

I'm curious to know if the sides of the air bed are as high as the trundle's (5 inches).

Thanks again! I don't mean to sound neurotic but 5 days of restless sleep with a roller is tough. I don't even want to think about how I'm going to do the crib to bed transition!
