Has anyone had a problem with it breaking? Ours snapped off at the hinge - DS wasn't really rough on it at all. I'm pretty sure we put the thing together right, since it took a gzillion hours. I'm so mad - it looks awful and I don't think there's a way to fix it without taking the entire thing apart.

No trouble so far but that is bothersome. I just love teh way it looks, although I had to but heavy tape over the magnetic closures cuz apparently I have a wimpy 22 month old who can't open the heavy duty doors. I would call and see if you can get a replacement.

We reversed the magnet on the freezer portion to make it less powerful and it works perfect for my DD. She's 22 months at the time we purchased it.
