We have a high counter bar (bar height - higher than a kitchen table)& I would like to set up the high chair at the end of it, but the original high chair we purchased was a little too low to make that comfortable. It is the Eddie Bauer and doesn't adjust - do any others (Peg Perego, Baby Trend, Fisher Price etc.) adjust higher?

Thanks for the help!

What about a booster seat attached to a stool (probably need a stool with a back) or a "clip-on" seat? We don't have a highchair at all. We use the FP healthy care booster seat on a dining room chair and have been happy with it from when we started solids at 5 months and still are happy with is at 15.5 months.

I think a hook on chair is your best bet.

I agree about the hook on chair. I think it's your best and safest option.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may get a hook-on chair, but I also want a traditional high chair, as I will be feeding him in the dining room as well (and my table/chairs in there aren't suited to a hook-on or booster).

So - - does anyone know if the Eddie Bauer is lower than some of the adjustable high chairs? (The closest store that carries the EB is 20 miles away, so I was hoping someone knew). THANKS

We have the Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair, and I just measured it - the seat is at 17" on the lowest setting and 26" on the highest setting. The highest setting looked about right at our countertops (standard height 35") but would probably be too low if the counter was much higher.

Hello,

There is a new highchair out called the Chicco Polly. It is taller than most so it should work out for you. I've only seen it IRL at Baby Depot and USA Baby so far. I'd call their 1-800 number to get a list of some local dealers. They sell them online at Target:

I just thought you'd like to avoid buying 2 chairs! :)
