I was browsing through the Oppenheim toy portfolio site (www.toyportfolio.com) looking for travel toys for an upcoming flight and saw that they recommended a Maisy Dress Up Kit by Alma's Designs. The kit looked really cute, but I couldn't find it being sold anywhere. Long story short, I went to the website of Alma's Designs (www.almasdesigns.com) and found all sorts of fabric "playhouses" that I love - like a soft sculpture barn with different stuffed fabric animals for Old MacDonald and a fire truck playhouse and more. (They no longer carry the Maisy Dress Up Kit, just in case anyone else is interested.) They also have flip dolls and other things that I think would be great for travel.

All that to say, I'm getting ready to place an order but I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who has any products from Alma's Designs. I hate to place an order for stuff sight unseen, but this all looks pretty cute to me!

ETA: There *is* a Curious George dress up kit listed in the Curious George category for those interested. It looks cute, but Curious George just isn't the same as Maisy!

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing! I don't know about Alma's Designs specfically, but DS has a fabric book -- There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly-- with little critters that adhere to each page with velcro and are moved into the old lady's belly as she swallows each. Ds loves it! It was a gift and I don't see any identifying markers on it to know who manufactured it.

Also, when I was a child, I had two flip dolls (like on the AD site) that were great. Mine were Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood. I've wondered where I could find dolls like that, so thanks for the link. :)

I too would be interested in any reviews. I want to get DS a noah's ark and this one looks adorable. I also had a flip doll as a chile - Little Red Riding Hood, which my mother still has. Thanks for finding and sharing this.

Jerilyn, was it this book:

I keep finding more things that I'd love to buy for DD! I wish I could see them in person.

It's the same concept, but slightly different design. DS loves playing with it. I do find that he sometimes hides the littler critters in the coffee table drawer, but we haven't lost any yet. ;)

I went ahead and placed an order and will give a review when my items come in. I ordered Old MacDonalds farm (http://tinyurl.com/dfwbv) and the Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme book (http://tinyurl.com/dcbx2). I hope that the products are as well-made and interesting as they appear.

Part of me wonders if they'd be interested in doing a co-op... Well, we'll tackle that when the time comes!
