My daughter has been attending daycare and bringing her lunch for sometime now. I want to recommend her lunchbox to others that may be looking for a way to neatly pack food to go.
The laptop lunch box:

We really like it. We even use it when we pack her meals for drives to grandma's house. I think she likes the way she can see all of the food and it is separated. And it has a little container for dipping sauces.

They sell a carrying case. I didn't buy it initially because it seemed too expensive. But, it is such a nice size and fits the box perfectly and she can easily carry it. It was worth the extra $.

And whatever the container or bag, I really encourage all parents reading this to almost always pack food and drink for their small children. Please don't stop at McDonalds when it is just as easy and much cheaper to pack some peanuts, raisins, whole-wheat fig bars, baby carrots, and applesauce (or even a cookie or some M&Ms - still better than eating out). Good habits last a lifetime.

Right. Excuse me, I stepping down from soapbox now... :)

Hey, that's cool.. my cupboards are full of junky lunchboxes and snack bags (they seem so cool at walmart... you know how it is!). Maybe it's time to finally spend good money on a quality item (since I have to do this almost daily for 2 kids in school... the school lunches are fairly healthy now, but I know they don't eat $1.75 worth!)

Wow, looks great! Thanks for sharing. I've bookmarked it and will have to get one in a few years when I send my little one off to school.

All the containers don't have tops? How does that work out?

I only need the lids if the food is liquid - applesauce, yogurt, soup, peanut sauce etc. Other stuff like nuts, cookies, strawberries stay fine in the containers because of the way they fit in the box. So, it works okay to have less lids and it is less work peeling off lids for daughter.
Having said that, my husband is...He likes to have a lid for every container. Call it instinct. And he makes her lunch often. He really likes the lunch box because the food is so well organized and easy to see all at once, but I know the lid thing lingers.
I wrote an email to the company letting my hubby's thoughts be known. It would be nice to at least be able to buy the lids as an extra accessory.
So, it might depend individual preferences.
