We've asked DS what special treat he would like for doing so well on potty training and he is apparenlty dying for a larger sized (not that matchbox sized) toy Jeff Gordon NASCAR car with a rainbow paint job. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be searching for such a thing, but he really deserves something cool for doing such a great job, so here I am. Local stores seem clueless, but I figure I must be able to get this online.

Any help would be so appreciated!

Well congratulations on the potty training!

I would try QVC, a local hobby shop or a racing collectables shop. Hopefully you can get a cheap, "non collectable," one -- some can be quite expensive!

Good luck!

That sounds like a car my DS plays with. It was originally a Skittles dispenser!

Something like this?

You might also want to check out some local flea markets and/or car related shows/markets. Items like that are plentiful there!

My little guy loves his Mega Bloks Dale Jr car. It has 45 pieces, and I basically put it together, but it is a favorite. It says 4+ because there are little pieces, but it stays together and we haven't had any problems. We got it around Easter because it was in his basket-I'm pretty sure I got it at Walmart. I comes in a little tin can about 4" x 6" and there is an advertisement on the back for a larger car-probuilder 9961. Maybe check the website if you are interested: www.megabloks.com

I thought I saw some NASCAR style cars at Walmart, but I'm not positive it will be what you are looking for. If I remember correctly, they were about the size of a model or die cast car, so bigger than the matchbox.

Walmart was my thought too. Keep checking, especially if you around a race track around race time. Also Target is a good one to check.
