Well, overly organized family members are already asking about Christmas presents (they obviously don't have a 3 mos old at home! LOL!), but I have no idea what Little Man will like around that time frame.

What were some of your DC's fave toys at this age??

TIA!

DS is almost 11 months - here are a few of the toys that we opened around 6 months and he is still playing with today!

FP roll-a-round balls - look online to see which one you want. They have a dinosaur, treehouse, gumball machine.... http://tinyurl.com/9t8rd

We have the FP Peek A Blocks Shape Sorter and DS loves to play with this. http://tinyurl.com/bjqdh

You might want to ask for an activity walker - you child might be sitting by then and be able to play with the toys that are on it - then you have it for later when DC is starting to walk. http://tinyurl.com/bcgmp

Baby Tap-a-Tune Piano - at 6 MO DS was LOVING this! He thought it was so funny to bang the piano and it would make music.

LeapStart Learning Table - we didn't put the legs on this until DS was 9 months and standing comfortably - we kept the table on the floor. DS would crawl all over it and would sit for a while and play.

Leap Frog table is great since you can take the legs off and then when he is standing up/pulling up, put the legs on. This toy has longevity!

The O-Ball is the greatest ball for babies since it is so easy for them to catch, grab, roll, whatever.

Boynton Books. We are crazy for Boynton books here and my 27 month old still likes some of them now when I read them to his little sis.

I'll update when I think of more fun stuff but there are also tons of posts on this if you do a search. :)

Sorry to butt in, but my DS is 1 week shy of six months, so I'm also interested in these suggestions. What's an O-ball and where can I find one?

Thanks!

An O-Ball is a ball that has holes so it makes it easy for little fingers to latch on. I got mine at a local toy store but here is one site that I found when I googled...http://www.whatshebuys.com/rhi-1001-01.html

They have it at kidsurplus too!

My DS loves his Winkel rattle. It's pretty cool because it's a colorful rattle and very useful when baby starts teething. Easy to hold for his little hands.

He also likes his Link-a-doos rings and rattle to chew on.

He's got a few Fisher-Price Rolls around sensory ball things now that he's learning to grab round objects...you might want to look into soft round toys to help with dexterity so if he's lying down and drops a soft ball he won't get to upset.

He also recently got this vibrating/teether/musical toy thing. It make shim laugh like crazy cuz the vibrations tickle and lights blink and stuff. My aunt got it for him at TJ Maxx and he loved it at the store so she had to buy it for him.
