I didnt have much success doing a search for this, so I thought I would ask:

I am searching for a dress up set for my 3 year old nephew. He loves to play pretend, as a fire fighter, construction worker, pirate, etc.

I can find a dress up trunk for little girls, but I havent had much success finding one for little boys.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Sheri

This one is the one I had planned to get for Brig. I guess it's out of stock now though.

Now is a good time of year to pick up stuff for a trunk. I intend to wait for sales and then put away a bunch of hats, capes etc. for my DS. My DH and I intend to make a trunk (he will make and I will paint) that looks like it was built of legos. If you don't want to make it, I've seen trunks at Michael's that are unfinished and look like pirate chests. You'll just have to make sure they are child friendly and change the hinges. Another option, I am purchasing a plain toy chest for my friend's little girl ($40 at TRU) and painting it with scenes from Beauty and the Beast (her favorite movie). I work at Disney, so I will pick up a bunch of dresses when they go on sale. FYI Pottery Barn Kids has some cute costumes now also. Good luck and have fun!

A good way to get them, is when halloween costumes go on sale, Disney and Sensational Beginnings had some nice costumes this year. Target and Walmart are great places to pick up some capes, hats, and accessories at 50-90% after Halloween! I have gotten capes for as little as $1.00 afterwards!!! HTH

costumes on sale?

I buy them on sale for my daughter to play
dress-up. :)

Thanks for your help!

Our local TRU actually has some good dress-up outfits in their Imaginarium department (police officer, firefighter, chef, teacher, veterinarian) and they're all $19.99. Conner received the Police Officer outfit for his birthday and it's been a big hit. It's well made and came with lots of accessories-- hat, ticket booklet, hand cuffs, whistle, badge, and a walkie talkie. I plan on getting him some more and picking up other stuff here and there (after Halloween sales sound like a great idea). He also has a straw hat and binoculars from his birthday party (we did a safari theme) and he has a fireman hat and other accessories from another birthday party we went too. My mom gave him a bunch of Mardi Gras beads that she had since he loves wearing things around his neck! Right now I just have everything in a wicker basket that has one of those cloth liners.

Unfortunately, it's hard to say when they will go on sale. We were bought by the Children's Place and they are running our sales differently than when we were still owned by Disney. We have a few styles on sale for 25% off now. Buzz is the only boys costume on sale. In girls we have Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pocahontas and Mulan on sale for 25% off. I personally am still waiting for a bigger mark down. We are selling out of sizes(especially Sleeping Beauty) though, so you may want to think about it. I am hoping that we receive more in our shipment.

I will keep you all posted if we have any good markdowns for dress-up.

Disney will go 50% on costumes after Halloween but the pickin' are slim..for the good costumes, I normally get those on sale before Halloween. I got some a couple weeks ago online from disney with a code that was a good deal...the code is over now but something to keep in mind.

That has always been the case in past years when we were part of the Disney company. The day after Halloween we would be mobbed! This year we are owned by The Children's Place, so I don't know how they will run the sales. Today I beleive that all costumes went to 25% off. The catalog and online are running different sales (they are still part of Disney). Also, their costumes are a bit different. This is mainly the case when it comes to the princess dresses. I'll keep you posted as I find out about the sales.
