I was just at Target and I found the coolest thing.
I bought a Mrs. Potato Head accessory set for my
Halloween pumpkin!! :)

They had 4 different styles--

*Mr. Potato Head, Make a Pirate Pumpkin

*Mr. Potato Head, Make a Vampire Pumpkin

*Mrs. Potato Head, Make a Princess Pumpkin

*Mrs. Potato Head, Make a Witch Pumpkin

Each accessory set comes with 10 parts to dress-up
your pumpkin.

For example, I bought the Mrs. Potato Head, Princess Pumpkin
set. The 10 parts are eyes, tiara, ears, nose, mouth,
arms, princess staff (wand), and shoes.
Plus, it was only $4.99.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to show you. It is
not on the Hasbro or Playskool website either.

I found it on an end-cap right after the stationary/card
section. (across from electronics)

I thought they were pretty neat too. Figured they'd be a great way for my older DD to 'decorate' pumpkins this year (no mess! yipeeee!). Only thing is that I'm already hesitant to set them out on our doorstep when the time comes. Afraid some bratty teenager might try to run off with a body part. :(

I snapped a picture so people could see:

They were on an end-cap in the Halloween dept. at my Target.

Jennifer,
Thanks for adding the picture! I hate it when I don't
have a picture to post when I am talking about
a certain product!

I had to laugh as I picture you lining up the 4
cannisters and arranging them so nice and neat
then pulling your camera out of your purse
for a quick pic. :)

So out of curiosity, how do the pieces attach to a pumpkin? I think DD is too young for it this year, but maybe next year. :)

On the outside of the cannister, it says for ages 2+.
But even my almost-4-year-old will probably need help pushing
the pieces into the pumpkin.

The pieces look just like regular Potato Head pieces.
There is a little plastic stick part that comes out
from each piece. You will need to push the little
stick part into the pumpkin.

Does this make sense? It sounds weird as I am
rereading it. :)

Thanks for posting this. My DD is soon to be 25 months and absolutely LOVES her "tayto head." We bought the regular kind potato head for about $5 and then bought so many Disney exclusive parts at the Disneyland's Toy Engine Store. They have this $16 "fill it up" box with Disney Exclusive pototoe head parts (Disney arms, Mickey and Goofy's hat, balloons, pins, character shoes, etc..). My DD has quickly learned so many body/head parts from this and never missed a day playing with it. She can say "pwincess hat, mickey's hat, mickey's bawoon, ears, etc...." She can even say "mustash". I will definitely check Target soon!

That sounds really cool too! I didn't know that Disney
make parts for the Mr. Potato Head.
Can they only be purchased at Disneyland?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, yes. I think Disney World also has the Engine Toy Store too. If you know of a friend or a BBB mama going there you might want to check with them. The tip is when you fill the box, don't put the head which is the bulkiest part (they sell regular potatoe head). Just stuff it with all the Disney Exclusive parts. Oh, and make sure the arms each have a left and right kind because they are different (don't forget Mickey's gloves). I tell you this is one of the best purchases we've had in our Disney travels.

We're going to Disney in December. Do you know if you have to buy a Potato Head when you buy the parts? I have so many heads, I really would rather just fill the box with parts...

As far as I know you aren't required to get a head. Last time I was there they had signs all over the stand saying "Don't forget the head!" and one of the 'cast members' was saying that people get so excited about all the fun parts they forget to buy a head and end up calling when they get back home to see if they can have one shipped to them.

Are you able to purchase the "Box of Parts" over the phone??

We have no plans of going to DisneyWorld anytime soon
but I think these Disney-Potato Head parts sounds really
cool.

My neighbor called one of the stores at DL last year looking for a Halloween costume and they were able to ship it to her. I would think that they'd be able to do the same thing with the box of PH parts too. Disney has funky policies on their "exclusive" theme park items sometimes though, the costume wasn't an exclusive item like the PH pieces are. It's probably worth calling them just to see if they'd do it for you.

Their heads are regular potatoe heads. The "fill-it-up" box they give you is not that big. Probably just a bit bigger than the regular Hasbro potatoe head box so I skipped the head and bought all the Disney exclusive parts and even doubled some like the Mickey's balloon, Mickey's ice cream bar, all the cute character hats and shoes, etc....

Just to chime in on the Disney/Potato Head talk, I am a Disney freak and have every part in existance that Disney makes. (Of course I have them for my DS.) The Store on 5th Ave in NY has even different ones. They make a Statue of Liberty and NY theme pieces. I will attach a link to a Potato Head web site so you can view all of the pieces they make. I don't know if Disney will ship, I would think it would be difficult for them. They do have a mail order phone number for Disney World merchandise it is 407-363-6200. I don't have a number for Disneyland or 5th Ave.

Holy cow! I never realized Mr. Potato Head had that extensive of a um...life, following, whatever you want to call it! I can see how collecting all the pieces could get addicting!

Hi, you don't have to buy the heads at all. Actually, that was our "strategy" when we were there last year. We stuffed the "box" with all the cool accesories that you can only find at DL. Don't forget to get extra arms because many of the spcial accessories (the lollipop, ballon, etc) can only fit on the arms you get there. DH was obsessed with getting the most possible pieces into that box. The woman there thought it was hilarious. She was very nice, she told us "confidentially" that they would let it pass as long as you could "kind of" close the box on the top even if you have arms etc sticking out.

I had bought 2 sets of Mr. Potato Head for $14.99 each from Target before we went, and took them with us (because I knew my kids would want to play with their new toys).

By the way, the toy store that has the Mr. Potato head parts is inside California Adventure. The first toy store you see after you walk into the California Adventure entrance (just past the restroom area on your right). Not sure whetehr that's the only store, but I asked every single toy store on the other side and was met with puzzled looks, "Mr. Potato Head? I don't think we carry Mr. Potato Head. Are they even Disney characters?"

Good luck and have fun! :)

I saw this info posted on the website that
Barb (bchafin) gave us!

There is a new Buzz Lightyear outfit for
Mr. Potato Head.
Unfortunately, it is only available at Disneyland
Hong Kong!
