Which do you prefer and why? We have the small magnadoodle in the diaper bag and DS enjoys it. Figure we need one for the house but I don't know which one....tia!

If I had to pick one it would be the magnadoodle...(like both though)....the good thing about the MD is you can fill it up, erase, and go again....with the aquadoodle once its all wet you have to wait for it to dry

I would also say Magnadoodle for the same reasons as mentioned above but....I do love the Aquadoodle sheets -- they are small sheets ( like 8 inches by 6 inches) that come in sets of 3 or 4 that when you color them with the water pen the picture appears. These are FANTASTIC for resturants, church, etc.... These sheets run about $9.99 and can be reused over and over and over! We just had a wedding yesterday and there were 9 children under the age of 5. I had about 10 of these sheets and I have to say it was a life saver. The kids colored for long periods of time at the reception. In fact there was a 15 month old even coloring them.

Best wishes!

Target has the Aquadoodle coloring sheets in a 3 pack with a pen for about $7.50. Just got some yesterday for DD. She loves them.

But if you are deciding between the full size Aqua of Magna Doodle, I think it depends on how your kid likes to draw. Mine likes the travel sized Magna Doodle but only in the car. We have both the full sized toys and she likes the Aquadoodle better. She can draw in the regular way, she can shake the water pen at the mat and create a splatter effect, she can have me trace her body on the large mat and then draw on it as if she were filling in features, etc.

I think at this earlier age Kaya prefers the magnadoodle, but she also finds the aquadoodle to be interesting. I think as she gets older, she might prefer the aquadoodle.

We've got both a large Magnadoodle and the Aquadoodle mat. Both have certain advantages, but one really great thing about the Aquadoodle is that more than one kiddo can draw at the same time. It's a bit hit when other kids come over to play.
