Hi - my friend told me she didn't think I could use the Angel Care baby monitor in a crib with a wire frame (rather than piece of plywood) mattress holder. I really don't want to add in a piece of plywood as I am afraid modifying the crib is unsafe. Do you know if this is true?

She's right. The monitor pad must be on a solid surface(plywood) not the wire surface. It is perfectly fine to cut a piece of plywood to size and place it over the wire frame - between the mattress and wire frame - then place the monitor pad between the plywood and mattress. You aren't changing the structure of the crib at all, just placing the plywood on top of the frame. I actually placed the dustruffle on top of the plywood then put the monitor on top so you didn't see the plywood at all.

It worked perfectly. I love the Angle Care monitor. Best $80 I ever spent!

HTH!

We did the same thing here and it worked great.

Yep, I used a piece of wood too. I'm so glad I had that monitor :)
