#3 is on the way, and just wondering what is good out there for swaddling. With our first two, we just used receiving blankets. I was never a good swaddler, and have seen some new blankets out, like the miracle blanket (i think that's the name) that make it easier. Just wondering what is good.

TIA!

I swaddled when my children were first born, until I found the Swaddle Me blanket. It was not sold at BRU then, but it is sold there now. I would highly recommend it. It comes in small and large sizes.

I've heard consistent praise for the Miracle Blanket here on the boards. My son was too big for the MB by the time I heard about them the first time around. I just ordered 4 for the new baby (I may give one or 2 away as gifts). Looking forward to using this product.

You can search the boards for Miracle Blanket, if you want to learn more.

I tried Swaddle me- and hated it. DS didn't like his arms swaddled, and it can only be used in a "full" swaddle. I also felt I couldn't get a tight swaddle with it either. However, it works great for others- it honestly depends on the baby I think!!

So my suggestion is- buy a few- but only wash and prepare one. If it works out, throw the others in the wash. Otherwise, return the unopened ones. That way, you don't need to go running to the store if the trial blanket is a success!

Thanks. I was thinking I'd definitely need more than 1 but wanted to try it out first. That's a good idea to buy a few and return if needed. ARe they only sold online? (miracle)

I saw some at Nordstrom but don't know the name of that one.

We did manage to get by with just one miracle blanket. Let's just say there were often times when I would wash it and dry it to a timer to make sure I had it ready for the next sleep. ;) When Kaya outgrew all her other blankets, the MB was the only one that would work for her. She still outgrew that one (pinned even) at 4.5 months, but I will definitely be swaddling from day one next time and I'll have two miracle blankets this time!

I bought 4 more during the co-op and have already given away 2 as gifts. The first time I bought one, I actually got together with several of my friends in our mom's group and we bought a bunch together to save on shipping and get a discount. Perhaps you could do that?

I don't think I know enough people with little babies to do a co-op. How much are they? I'm thinking a little pricey . I guess $ is worth it for a sleeping baby! I could always just buy one and if works well order some more.

Well, you can get them directly from the maker:

http://miracleblanket.com/

It's 10% off the listed price and 15% off two or more. The listed price is $29.95, so yes, a little pricey. You could always get a couple and give one as a baby gift...
