View Full Version : Has anyone heard of a slide for a staircase?

When I was a child, my mom had a wooden slide that you put along a staircase for instant indoor fun. She always put a wedge pillow in front of the wall at the foot of the stairs. It was a very cool toy, although I recall storage was a problem. Eventually, she gave it away to a family with 4 kids and I remember being very sad as a child. :-(

Anyone know of anything like that today?

No...but I WANT one!!!! What a cool idea! Wonder if I could just stick a slide from one of those play systems on my stairs... DH would have an instant heart attack, I bet....

I want one too! I did a quick Google search and was only able to find this. I wish I had all the money in the world and could build this at my house.

I would love to have a slide to put along the staircase
but I have a feeling my husband would veto that idea!

I guess I could only pull it out when he is at work
or out-of-town!! :)

Karen- I'm having difficulty picturing it (but I love the photo of the fancy wooden one!).

What we did: took all the cushions off the sofa(s) and slid down the (carpeted) stairs in sleeping bags!

No, unfortunately - I hope you can find one! My sisters and I used to put twin size mattresses all the way down our staircase with pillows at the bottom and slide for hours (we broke springs in the mattresses but we didn't care :) )- I would love to find a slide for our kids someday! :) Ah, fun childhood memories...

Awesome! When we build a second floor, I want that staircase! No, I can't afford it, but it truly is cool. :)

I think my DH would actually agree to it. We moved into a 2 story house a few months ago after living in 1-stories our whole lives. We packed our boxes in a rush, so I dont know how MANY TIMES we had to go UP and DOWN and UP and DOwN. After a while I was crawling up and down the stairs :)

I don't know of one but it is similar to what I want off of our deck. DH built steps from a landing and I told him I want a slide off the opposite end of the landing. I also asked for a fire pole but that got vetoed.
I LOVE the one pictured above. How fun would that be?!?!
