Hello all -

I am going to the inlaws for the holiday and I am thinking about getting a Chicco hook on high chair. They have limited space, but I need to feed DS 3x daily and he is easily distracted out of the chair. Does anyone have one of these? Do you like it? What about a different brand? TIA!

I bought the Chicco 3 yrs ago when DS #1 was born and have used it with my twins as well. It is an AWESOME chair. Fit both big and small kids, even thouse that don't sit up so well yet. Contains well. Washable. My mom bought another brand which didn't seem to work as well b/c the seat was too deep for younger kids and it was hard to take apeart to wash.

The only things to consider-- Can't be used with tablecloths or on tables with a single leg, like many round/restaurant tables. Occasionally, we had trouble in booths if the table didn't feel stable enough (though usually it was fine) or, once the kids were older, they could stand on the seat under the booth while in the seat.

Some regular tables have support stuff under the table that won't allow you to hook on, but I found the Chicco had less trouble with this that some others.

Anyway, my twins were born when DS was 2. I had to travel quite a bit (long story) when everyone was little and the seat was great.

We used our Chicco chair for the first time this past weekend while visiting family. It's our travel chair and we were surprised at how solid it was. They have an antique dining table and it hooked on perfectly and was very sturdy. We were really impressed. I didn't buy the Chicco Hippo hook on because it was the same as the other less expensive type. We bought ours at Albee Baby for about $34 with free shipping. Beats the $55 Chicco Hippo. It also came with a travel bag.

I have the Chicco Hippo chair, and love it! I had a 15% off any one item coupon at BRU so I figured I would splurge on this one.

The chair is really easy to use. I have only found one table that has given me any problems getting it on, and that was a folding table (we ended up using the restaurant high chair instead). For traveling this type of seat/chair is fantastic.
