If you know of any with really lovely illustrations, I'd love to hear about it.

TIA!

Tasha Tudor's illustrations are usually really nice. I haven't seen this book IRL though. DS has 2 copies but I haven't gotten them out of the Christmas bins yet ;) I can't recall which versions they are. It doesn't look like the hardcover version is available any longer, at least not at amazon.

Ours might be Jan Brett?

DS likes Jan Brett's other illustrations (he looooves the Mitten)

sort of on topic/off topic post here, I hope it's okay. Just wanted to post this book idea and it fits in nicely with your original post.

The book is The House of Wooden Santas. It's an advent book, you read a chapter per night of December. I doubt a toddler would sit through the book, but I just wanted to share it. The pictures are just beautiful, they're real wood carvings.

I LOOOVE the idea of this book. I am a sucker for Christmas traditions, and this seems perfect. DS may be too young for it right now, but I am definitely going to get it. Thank you so much for posting it, Erin!

Oh goody, glad I can help spend your money. :P

I already have my own copy and I was just thinking my 3 year old nephew would sit through a chapter per night, but my sister would never remember!

This looks great! Sarah is really loving pop-up books these days, and this one looks really nicely done. Thanks! :)

We have this version with dot drawings by Matt Tavares. It's amazing. My son loves looking at the pictures even though they are black and white. It's a beautifully made book.
