View Full Version : Question for Symphony in Motion mobile owners

I've read great things about the Symphony in Motion mobiles, but I've also heard that some people have difficulty attaching them to their crib. The crib we bought for our daughter has about a 2" flat rail along the top side (see pic). Will we be able to attach the Symphony in Motion mobile?

Thanks for your help!

Hmmm. Maybe not. DS is (on his way to being) asleep now or I'd check for sure, but I'm pretty sure the mobile has a little piece at the top to overhang the top of the crib to keep it stable. I don't think that would fit over that flat rail.

I had some trouble myself with mobiles because I also had a "nonstandard" crib. I also had a bit of trouble with the Fisher Price Aquarium, but eventually got it to fit. The Fisher Price Aquarium mobile not at all (but decided it wasn't all that much fun anyway).

Hopefully someone else can add their two cents for sure, but I'm thinking it's may not work for your crib.

Jodi,

I am not sure either. But I know you need a flat edge in order to put in on. So you will definitely not be able to put in on with the control buttons on the outside of the crib because of the overhang. I can't tell from the picture whether the inside is flat enough, but you may be able to put it along the long sides with the control panel on the inside and the screw on the outside. I couldn't take a picture of ours attached to the crib, but I took a picture so you can see what it looks like. Maybe it will give you a better idea of whether it can fit or not. BTW, we love our's. We have the farm animal one.

Hope this helps

Our crib has a 3/4 inch overhang and the SIM mobile fits fine. (facing out, installed the "right" way). I'd get it from BRU and if it doesn't work you can always take it back. DS LOVES LOVES LOVES this mobile!

Okay, I think I just realized that I've had the controls backwards all this time! They're on the inside of the crib and it sounds like they should be on the outside. It hasn't seemed to make much of a difference (yet) and soon we'll be taking down the mobile anyway, but, duh!

To be honest, I don't think there is a right way or a wrong :-). We have them on the outside only because that way I can use it for the crib and over the changing table at the same time. Also, it prevents DD from turning it off and on when she is suppose to be sleeping. I always assumed most people had the controls on the inside.

The picture and descriptions really helped. I sounds like it's worth a try to install it with the controls facing in. I'll keep the receipt just in case it doesn't work.

Thank you!

I have the same crib and I used the sassy mobile and it fit great. Maybe you can compare this one to the SIM one in the store and see if they fit the same.
