I've been considering this doll as a 1st birthday gift for DD and they all seem to look the same - I wonder why. I have found a darker skinned doll who is brunette and has brown eyes, but that seems to be it in terms of variation. Anyone know of any others?

What combination exactly are you looking for?

Your right. Most are Caucasian with blonde hair and blue eyes but I have spotted a few African American, Asian, and Brunettes on their website when I went searching for mine.

Here are links for the entire line of 2004 and 2005 Baby Alexander dolls.

I love the classic Huggums face and was just looking for a Caucasian doll with brown eyes. Seems like it would be easy to do, but none of the Huggums dolls seem to have them.

Did your DC like the Huggums doll? My mom suggested that DD might not like that it doesn't have "real" arms and feet??

Yes! We love ours around here! :) Although we are doll "lovers" and already have quite a collection. Each has been played with and loved in their own little way. If your daughter doesn't end up liking the huggum doll it will most likely be because she is not interested in dolls at all, not because of the cloth hands and feet. I've got a friend whose DD wont play with any of our dolls but gravitates to DH's Game Cube and box of computer wires LOL! :)

The Madame Alexander doll we have is a cloth limbed doll with a pink blossom dress. I got it at Tuesday Morning for around $20-30! :) They have both kinds of Huggum dolls there, vinyl and cloth. It's truly one of DD's favorites! :)

Here are a few favorite doll sites I've got bookmarked for future DD purchases! :)

Think alternative to Barbie but with an American girl twist with books. The Theater and Stable sets are highly rated! We are giving the Stable to DD this Christmas.

I have a Samantha Doll from when I was 8 that I let DD play with occasionally with supervision. When she's old enough I will be getting her her very own.

Doll House Emporium great for any collector! They have wooden children sets and adult houses, although I started my adult collection around 7yrs old.
