View Full Version : Does anyone have the MIss Spider ABC Board Book?

I think mine is defective. the last 2 pages are different from the large size book. I'm wondering if that's true for all of them or if, indeed, I got on that is defective. Can someone look at it and tell me what the last two pages are?

Ours is right here:

left hand side says:
Surprise!
Happy Birthday, Miss Spider!
Miss Spider is eating a piece of cake.

right hand side has a banner that says Happy Birthday Miss Spider at the bottom with all of the bugs behind it.

Frequently board books are slightly different than the regular books. I know "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" is, as is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". I know this because we read BOTH versions of BOTH books every single damn night!!! (Can you tell I'm getting a bit sick of them?) :)

I think they are usually a bit shorter.

Yup, our board book version of There's a Wocket in My Pocket is different, too, somewhat abbreviated, and I noticed a she in our board book is a he in the original. Kind of interesting.

So it Put Me in the Zoo. Pretty common since board books usually have fewer pages than the hardbacks or paperbacks.

Ok. My book has that but then there is a page after that that has "A" Ants await on the left and "B" Bumblebees blow balloons on the right. That's the part I think is wrong. I believe in the "big" version there was something else, although I can't recall.

There is not much they could do "differently" with this board book since its a book ont he ABCs. Still have to get all the letters in, don't they?

my recollection on reading about the miss spider board books is they had bad reviews just because of the editing

FWIW my DD absolutely loves Ms. Spider's ABC's!!
I don't really like it that much though. Can't figure out if it's the pictures she likes or the words, but she wanted that book multiple times per day, every day for a long time. I thnk I stuck it in the bottom of one of her book bins awile ago so she would give it a rest!
