Difference between Leapfrog L-Max and Leapster?

Does anyone know the difference between these 2 products? Why is the L-Max double the price of the Leapster? Is it just the ability to plug it into the TV that makes it so expensive? I know Target has the L-Max for about half off which is actually a bit cheaper than the Leapster so I'm trying to decide which one to get my twins.
