I picked up this wooden LockBox/Shape Sorter at Target yesterday for $4.95 regular price. I thought it was a really good deal, but didn't realize how good until I looked it up-Kidsurplus has it for $34. So, I am gathering they mismarked the tag, but I thought I would pass it on. The toy has been a huge hit already.

Someone else mentioned getting a great deal on it, but at my Target it still rang full price on Monday. :( I think I have to go back and try again!

If you really want me to, I can! I have been hiding clearance toys at Target throughout the city, so I will need to make around round next week. They had several.

ETA: Of course, Jeanne, you get the same offer!

Wow, I would love it! Kaya is so into latches and any other fastener that this would probably fascinate her. I got the M&D puzzle with latches and stuff recently and didn't realize it was 4 years and up until I got home. It took her 30 seconds to figure out all but the two that needed strength. She can now do the other two because she just realized she needed to be more persistent. I'm actually going to glue pics of her favorite people on the insides of the doors this weekend. :)

Thanks, Susan!!!

So frustrated. Found one left at Target today and nearly skipped to the scanner only to find it coming up at $19.99.

We bought this toy several months ago (a huge hit also), but two of the doors lost their pins (choking hazard) and then one of the other doors literally split in half (with wood shards sticking out everywhere) with no effort.

I called Parents, who referred me to Battat (who makes the toy for Parents). They told me their customer service center was closed at the time, but they would have someone get in touch with me that Monday (it was Friday evening when I called). I asked her what they usually do in this situation, and she said they would most probably just replace the toy, which I'm fine with. I just realized after reading this post that I never did get a call back, and it was *right* before the holidays so it just simply slipped my mind. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Just wanted to give a heads up because I encountered two dangerous things (very small pins holding the doors on just falling out, and then the one door breaking in half with sharp shards of wood sticking out) with this toy ... and my son isn't a brute either.

The two Targets that had it for $4.98 were sold out of them. I will continue to keep my eye out for you!

I called Battat again this morning and again explained the situation. They said they could either send me a replacement of the toy or a different toy, my choice. Since this is one of my son's favorite toys, I opted to get another Peek A Zoo, hoping ours was just a fluke. They're behind from the holidays, but said we should receive it in a few weeks. The asked me to throw away the old one, since it's obviously a hazard (I already took it away anyway, but saved it in case I needed to return it to them).
