Bedtime Blessings (Praying) Gloworm

I have a friend whose one-year-old son is having open heart surgery next month. It’s in another state, and I wanted to send them something to let them know we’re thinking of them. I heard a light-up toy would be good, but the only thing I could find are Gloworms……there's one called "Bedtime Blessings Gloworm" and it's praying and says a prayer, which I think would be perfect for the occasion. However it's new and doesn't have any reviews yet, so that makes me nervous because the updated version of the original Gloworm has gotten a lot of negative comments for being too loud and scaring babies. Does anybody know anything about this version?

Or if you have any other ideas, I would love to hear it! I also thought about the Tiny Love Developlay Activity Center, but I don’t know how much he’ll be able to move after his surgery. I also like the idea of a crib soother that can project light patterns on the ceiling, but is it safe to assume they already have one?

Aww that's really thoughtful of you and I think they would really appreciate it. For us when our DS had open heaert surgery, the hospital gave us an Angel Bear beanie baby. Also you could get a stuffed doll that's says prayers, I think Precious Moments makes them. Also we have a Prayer Friend that my aunt gave DS, made by Bright Inspirations which I know you can find at BRU and sometimes Target, Marshalls, and TJMaxx.

I haven't seen the Precious Moments at any B&M stores, but my nephew had one...soft and very cute and says a prayer.

Our DS has a glowarm and well he liked it in the store but right now...he's never to excited about it. Maybe a passing thing who knows but I think you could be safe with a stuffed soft prayer type doll.

ETA, if you wanted to get a ceiling light projector thing, they have one at the Discovery store that is pretty neat looking.

And I recently saw this at BRU, it's a mobile by Tiny Love, a Symphony Light & Motion Mobile. Looked kind of neat...downside is that thye may have a mobile already.

Oh, those Prayer Friends are really cute!

The Discovery ceiling projector is also a good idea b/c I didn't know if they would already have a mobile or crib toy.

I'm not sure if you are still looking for a prayer buddy, but I found the Precious Moments prayer friends at Walmart today in the baby section and thought I'd let you know. Sorry I forget to check the price on it...but they have them at target.
