My DD loves an old FP pop-up toy that she plays with at daycare. I have been searching for something similar but can't seem to find one. Can anyone recommend a pop-up toy that a 9 month old can easily manipulate?

TIA!

Hi Marci,

We have something similar to this and Sarah loves it.

The one that we have we found at TRU and it is made by Playskool. It has 5 pop ups. It is a bare bones type model. We hate things with music and lights so it took some searching to find the one that we have.

It is fairly easy to use. Sarah can pop up 3 of them really well, she can't turn the key one yet. She can close them really well too!

Thanks Kim,

That one looks pretty similar to the one at daycare. I never seem to be able to get anywhere to look at toys and have to order everything on line. As you know, the shopping here sucks. So I will definitely look into that one.

Thanks again

If you want, I can see if they have one at our TRU! I would be glad to pick one up for you if you decide that it's the one that you want. I can always use an excuse to go TRU -- and an excuse to visit!

Kim,

From the years, the one you have should not be part of the recall, but is this the one you have?

We had this one and I liked it because it did not make noise.

Kim,

I was going to try to look for it online, but with the recall on the older models, I am not sure that I would feel comfortable ordering it online. Thanks for the offer. But I may take you up on it, if it gives you an excuse to visit :-). Let me see what else I can find, and I will let you know.

That is the one that we have, but it is the newer one that wasn't in the recall.

That one looks good too. And I like the price as well :-). Are they easy to pop up?

Yes, they are easy for little hands to pop-up. One of them, I can't remember which one, is slightly more challenging.

We also have this one (it's slightly different, but clearly a version of the same toy). The one that you turn is the hard one, but DD loved this toy at 8 months and still loves it now at 22 months. When she was little you had to pop them up for her and then she pushed them down; now you tell her which animal you want and she pops it up and talks about it and then pushes it down. We call it "suppressing farm animals" as in "I can't play right now, how about you go suppress some farm animals?"
