Hey ladies! I posted another thread about outdoor toys and came to the conclusion that we should just bite the bullet and get our DD a swing set for her birthday. Granted she will only be one but I just think it is crazy to spend money on toddler slide and play area that she will out grow in a year. If you have swing sets or other play areas will you post what you like about it and what you don't like about it. Maybe a link and or a picture would be great!!

As I mentioned in your other post, we ended up getting the Little Tykes Playcenter Playground, which has a little fort area with a wavy slide that comes down. It has a rope ladder thingy (slanted upwards) and a regular ladder on the other side. It comes with two regular swings and a two person glider. And there's a space under the fort where you can have sand, but we just store the unused swing parts in there right now since we have a sandbox. We got a couple toddler swings (one is Kaya's and the other is her friend's) to go in the place of the regular swings until Kaya is old enough for regular swings. Anyway, if you go to Littletykes.com, they have a picture of it.

Kaya likes the wavy slide and the swing a lot. Just below the rope area, there is a little area that tends to collect a little water, which I would assume is breeding grounds for mosquitos. But oddly enough, we haven't had any problems with them, so far. But in any case, the water is easily wiped off. Overall, we really like this set and I think we'll get a lot of use out of it.

That looks pretty neat. Do you think it'll last for a long time? Will Kaya outgrow it before she'd outgrow the wooden types? Is there enough spacing between the swings for multiple kids to easily swing at the same time?

You know that area under the rope part is shown with water in it in the picture on the site, too. It seems like it's supposed to have water; I wonder why it's not covered.

I think it'll actually last Kaya for a long time. The problem with the wooden types is that most of them are too big for our space in the backyard. And of course, they were much pricier. We've had two toddlers swing side by side on the swing part and I could easily see two other toddlers on the glider. So yes, I think they can do it.
