Now that I have ordered the doll house (thanks everyone!), I can start researching doll house dolls. I was going to buy the doll house family from creativebrainsonline because it was on sale, but I wasn't sure I liked the look of them. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions. Perhaps you know of a WAHM who makes them??

I really like the look of the Kathe Kruse dolls, but they are expensive. I would like to buy some dolls of different races because that would most look like our family. Here are a few that I have found. They are all Caucasion sets, although some manufacturers do offer them in African-American, Asian, and Latino.

A Toy Garden (I think Evi dolls makes this set):

Evi Dolls:

Pottery Barn Kids also sells a set that is cute, very modern, professional looking, but there is no link. I think they only sell them in store. I only saw a Caucasian set.

TIA!

ETA: I found another set -

We have Ryan's Room, Plan Toys and Melissa and Doug dolls and to be honest, they were frustrating for DD. She could never bend their legs just right to get them to stand. She actually did really well with the Fisher Price Loving Family dolls. They seem to stand easier and are easier to bend the legs to get them to sit.

Just thought I'd toss that idea out there!

I have seen most of these IRL and like the KK, Evi and Selecta ones best. These are the cutest :) Personally, I wouldn't get PBK or M&D.

PP is right about the loving family. The legs bend together and are kind of "stiff" so they are more stable. Most of the ones you’re looking at have the "ropey" limbs and "bend" in multiple directions. We had a set of these and DD just gets frustrated. I pull them out when we are out and about. We love wooden toys in our house but like the Loving Family (classic looking enough, think vintage Little Tikes) for playing house at this age. ;)

Dont get it mixed up with Sweet Streets, These are on a smaller scale I think.

Thanks for your responses!

Rebekah, Do you know where I can see the Kathe Kruse on-line? I have only been able to find the site I posted, and I would like to see if I can find a better selection. Thanks!

Eileen-

Yah, your right, I have never seen these online either...I was at a local toy shop called Magical Child in Encinitas CA and about feel over when I saw all the different KK dolls. They are *so* beautiful, my fav definitely. :) Maybe visit the website?

Go to the "retailer" page for a complete list of websites and local shops. You could always contact them too.

I like the Voila Dolls because they are sold individually so you can build just the family you want. I also think they are cuter than the Ryan Room and Alex dolls. They bend and stand pretty well also.
