I know there was some recent talk on these. But I was wondering if anyone had either of these:

both are from target. Looking forward to hearing what your thoughts/opinions are. :) TIA.

I have the top one (scanner model) - it is OK. The sounds it makes are not realistic, the scanner beeps a bit then makes a calculating sound, like one might hear with the bottom cash register from OP. The credit card is hard to get a sound out of so my 2 year old can get frustrated with it.

Our ideal cash register would be the Just Like Home brand from TRU but with an attached scanner - the JLH one has a "belt scanner" that broke after one day of use. Had I read the amazon reviews beforehand I would have known this, and thus it is a cheaply made product and not worth exchanging. But it makes great realistic beep sounds, my DC loved the credit card function and the key/lock for the drawer. Also it beeps when pressing number keys, which the Target one did not.

I don't like the talking/$40 cash register offered many places, so I am still in the market for one...
