My DD enjoys watching DVDs in the car on the way to grandma's house. :) She is starting to count, and she is showing some interests in naming colors.

Can anyone give me some ideas for good DVDs on counting, ABCs, and colors? We checked out a Sesame Street counting one (with The Count), but she hated it. She also has never really taken to the Little Einstein ones. (She's really hung up on Elmo -- which I'm sick of.. :)

TIA

We haven't watched it yet, but we have Richard Scarry's Best Counting Video Ever! (that's the title, not my opinion ;) ). For ABCs, we have LeapFrog's Letter Factory. And, finally, my daughter learned her colors from Signing Time, though I forget which volume.

My DD learned her colors from Signing Times vol 6. They are a little spendy, but worth every penny. My DD loves them. We started showing her vol 5 when she started being interested in her ABC's also. They don't really have a counting one. You can probably take them out of the library to give them a try.

I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but I recommend the Signing Times line and the Leap Frog videos. Baby Van Gogh is great for colors, and Baby Newton is great for shapes.

We got Leapfrog's Letter Factory (ABC's) as a gift and apparently it got very high reviews on amazon. We've only watched it a couple of times but I noticed DC seem to really like it. They started "singing" the tunes and repeating what they were hearing.

DS loved (and STILL loves) Sesame Street's Learning About Letters. It has lots of different characters (and I don't even think the Count is in it!) plus lots of cute little songs (DH and I often find ourselves singing along to the "L" song with Ernie and Bert - our favorite!) And it's only 30 minutes, which I think is a perfect length.

Baby Einstein Numbers Nursery for numbers, and Baby Van Gogh for colors. The Signing Time DVDs are also great for the car, especially My Favorite Things (Vol 6) which is all about colors and fruits and veggies.

Baby Van Gogh for colors, Baby Newton for shapes; both excellent and I think two of the best BE ones out there.
