My DGS will be starting pre-school and I'm looking for a cute, boyish backpack for him. LLBean used to have one with a frog print, but of course now that he is old enough, they don't have it any longer. I'm not crazy about their new styles, but I want something that's good quality without the usual characters if possible. TIA

The problem we had was SIZE. Most of the ones I found were huge. But, we bought the smallest one that they had at LLBean last year and honestly it wasn't nearly big enough! The pack has to hold a change of clothes, diapers, and his lunch and that little thing from Bean would hold lunch but that's it.

So, I ended up getting one at Hanna on sale. My SIL checked out EBags and got the Kelty Minnow: http://www.ebags.com/kelty/minnow/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=55386

Lands' End also has them, but I can't vouch for size.

this ebay seller was recommended by someone else on this board. I haven't purchased a backpack from her, but I did buy boots and a raincoat. The backpacks are really cute and I will probably get one for my dd in September...
